Theatre of Life

I went the see “The Play That Goes Wrong” the other day. It’s a play about a play, where everything that can go wrong, does go wrong.

We know this from the start (especially as this was our second visit), yet we still gasp, scream and laugh as the drama unfolds.

At the end, the actors pick themselves up from the total chaos of the stage. All theatrical injuries forgotten they are immediately all smiles for their curtain call.

Life is a bit like that. It’s human nature to get picked up and carried along by the drama of life. Sooner or later there is a curtain call, and we remember the rest is but an illusion.

In the theatre, our applause is for the creative work and performance of the actors. In life, we can applaud the creative process that takes thought and makes it real to us.
